In light of the riots of June, 2020, I offer this prayer . . .
Our Father,
You see Your world,
In crazy chaos and implosion.
We are carnivorous, eating our own
and destroying ourselves in the process.
Forgive us
for we don't know what we are doing!
A cry for justice
should never bring more injustice!
My easy solution and desperate prayer is that you
change them,
stop them,
fix them.
But no them mentality ever brought peace and reconciliation.
I need Your perspective
So let me sit in your lap and sense your grief and compasion
So that I will enter my world with restored resolve
Understanding that I am one of them
Needing your forgiveness and direction.
Father of us all,
Hear our prayer for personal transformation.
